DBT for Supervisors and DBT Team Leaders

DBT for Supervisors and DBT Team Leaders

“Ensuring program fidelity and team member adherence”
Only offering for 2022
Implementing and maintaining a DBT program requires commitment from an agency’s administration and staff that are directly responsible for delivering the treatment.  The DBT Team Leader is the person who is ultimately responsible for ensuring the environment is structured to fulfill the functions of the modes of treatment.  In this sense, the environment is the “treatment environment”.  The “treatment environment” must allow comprehensive DBT to be delivered.  If not executed well, DBT programs are unlikely to be comprehensively implemented and sustained.  DBT Team Leaders are also tasked with taking a DBT program from  “organizational pre-treatment”(the initial stage that involves identifying goals of the agency and assessing whether or not DBT can reach those goals) all the way to sustainability (a DBT program that has survived staff turn-over, has outcomes to demonstrate its effectiveness and is now focused on long-term survival).  They are the “captain of the team” and ensures the team remains energized and motivated as a whole.  There has been minimal training content and written material on how a DBT Team Leader functions, their roles and tasks and the skill required to perform effectively.  This training is designed to help fill in that gap.
